“OFFSHORE RAIN” – LINOCUT WITH 21 ct GOLD LEAF
Soldier rain marching across the sea. Then the sky opens, and a ray of sunshine breaks through like pouring into a pot of gold.
“Offshore Rain” is a limited edition of 6 original artworks hand-printed with professional oil-based ink on Fabriano Artistico paper. 21 ct gold leaf is added to bring out the brilliant light.
This is an original hand-made print using a combination of reduction linocut and monoprint. A tonal palette is achieved using predominantly blue with red and yellow. Each colour is printed and cut from the same plate. The colour is custom-mixed, and the image transferred by rubbing the back of the paper with a printmaking tool. A variety of marks is made by cutting the lino plate and using the roller as a painting tool. Thin layers of ink are layered to achieve the desired intensity.
The image size is 33cm x 23.5cm. It is framed in a light tan wood frame measuring 52cm x 42cm.
