Family Circle - nowhere we’d rather be

Origami cranes

Celebrating the love within families is an important part of life, and this artwork perfectly captures that sentiment.

The artwork comprises 100 individually folded origami cranes in three different sizes, making each one unique. The intricate details of each crane required meticulous folding with the help of tweezers. The exquisite papers used to create the cranes were sourced from Japan.

Cranes are a symbol of good luck and longevity in various cultures, and the act of folding them is a contemplative process. It took considerable time to create this artwork, as every crane required precise folding.

The colourful palette and shapes were carefully selected to express diversity and unity. The placement of each crane is precise and essential for the overall design, and the circular layout creates movement and strength.  The artwork is interesting to view from every angle, and the shadows formed by the cranes add another dimension to the piece.

The artwork measures 52cm x 52cm, invites the viewer to view the work as a whole, and also to take a closer look at the individual parts.
