POTATO FIELDS IN BORNHOLM - original handmade linocut with 21 ct gold leaf

Potato fields in the flats of Bornholm along the Lower Denmark Road.  A local crop grown in this area.  White flowers and green leaves against the grey blue sky.  The humble potato seeds quietly multiply under rich loamy soil. 

This is a limited edition of 10 original works. The artwork is created by reduction linocut print using one plate.  Each layer of oil-based ink is hand-printed and cut away until the last colour is printed.   The process is methodical and calm.  21 ct gold leaf is added to bring out the light in the scenery. The palette is reserve.
